Return Policy – Pure Basics

Thank you for shopping at purebasics-us.com. We want you to love every Pure Basics piece you bring into your wardrobe. However, we understand that sometimes an item may not work out – the fit might feel wrong, the color may look different in your home light, or you simply changed your mind. This Return Policy explains how to return eligible items. Please read it carefully before initiating a return.

By making a purchase on purebasics-us.com, you agree to the terms below.


1. Our Return Promise

We stand behind the quality of every Pure Basics garment sold on purebasics-us.com. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return eligible items within the time window stated at the bottom of this policy (see Section 9 – “Return Window”). We do not charge restocking fees. Our goal is to make the return process as fair and straightforward as possible.


2. Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return, an item must meet ALL of the following conditions:

  • Purchased from purebasics-us.com – We can only accept returns for items bought directly through our website. Products purchased from other retailers, resellers, or secondhand must be returned to the original place of purchase.
  • Within the return window – Your return request must be initiated within the number of calendar days stated in Section 9, counting from the date your order was delivered (not the date of purchase).
  • Unworn and unwashed – The item must not show any signs of wear, including deodorant marks, makeup stains, pet hair, perfume scent, or washing. Please try on items carefully over clean, scent-free undergarments.
  • Original tags attached – All Pure Basics tags must still be affixed to the garment exactly as they arrived. Do not remove the tags until you are certain you want to keep the item.
  • Original condition – The item must be free of any damage caused by the customer (tears, pulls, stains, alterations, iron burns, etc.). Damage that was present upon delivery is handled separately – see Section 7 below.
  • Not on the exclusions list – See Section 3 for non-returnable items.

If an item is returned and does not meet these conditions, we may deny the return and send the item back to you, or issue only a partial credit at our sole discretion.


3. Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene and safety reasons, the following Pure Basics products cannot be returned:

  • Underwear, bralettes, and camisoles (even if unworn and tags attached)
  • Socks and tights
  • Face masks or any product designed for the mouth or nose
  • Earrings or other pierced jewelry
  • Final sale items – these are clearly marked on the product page on purebasics-us.com (look for “Final Sale – No Returns” in red text)
  • Gift cards (digital or physical)
  • Items damaged due to customer misuse, washing errors, or pet damage

We also cannot accept returns on any item that has been altered, hemmed, or customised by a third party.


4. How to Start a Return

To return an eligible Pure Basics item, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into your account on purebasics-us.com. If you checked out as a guest, you can still access your order using the “Guest Return” link found at the bottom of our website.
  2. Go to “Order History” and locate the order containing the item you wish to return.
  3. Click the “Request Return” button next to the eligible item.
  4. Select the reason for your return from the dropdown menu. This helps us improve our product descriptions and sizing guides.
  5. Submit the request. You will immediately receive an automated confirmation that we have received your return request.
  6. Within 1–2 business days, we will send you return instructions. These instructions will include a return shipping label (if applicable under your chosen policy option – see Section 5 below) and the correct return address for the facility handling Pure Basics returns.

Do not send any item back to us without receiving an approved return request first. Items returned without prior authorisation may not be processed and will not be refunded.


5. Return Shipping Costs

Return shipping costs depend on why you are returning the item:

  • Defective, damaged, or incorrectly shipped items (our error) – We will cover the return shipping cost. A prepaid return label will be provided to you through the return request process.
  • Wrong size, changed mind, or no longer wanted (customer preference) – Return shipping costs are your responsibility. You may either use the label we can provide (with the cost deducted from your refund) or arrange your own shipping. We recommend using a carrier that provides tracking. We are not responsible for lost returns shipped using your own label.

We do not list specific dollar amounts for return labels here because costs vary by package weight and your location. You will see the exact cost during the return request process before you commit.


6. Refunds

Once we receive your returned Pure Basics item at our returns facility, please allow 3–7 business days for inspection. After inspection:

  • If the item meets all eligibility conditions, we will issue a refund to your original payment method (credit card, PayPal, etc.).
  • Refunds include the full product price paid at checkout, excluding any original outbound shipping fees (unless the return is due to our error).
  • If you received free shipping on your original order and you return all items in that order, we may deduct the original outbound shipping cost from your refund.

You will receive an email confirmation when your refund has been processed. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 3–10 business days for the refund to appear in your account.

Partial refunds may be issued for items that are clearly worn, missing tags, or have minor damage not reported at the time of return request.


7. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

We take great care in packing every Pure Basics order from purebasics-us.com. However, occasionally a product arrives damaged, has a manufacturing defect, or is the wrong item entirely. If that happens:

  • Do not submit a standard return request.
  • Instead, use the contact form on purebasics-us.com within 48 hours of delivery.
  • In your message, write “DEFECTIVE / DAMAGED” in the subject line. Include your order number, the product name, and clear photos showing the issue (for damaged/defective items) or a photo of the incorrect item next to your packing slip (for wrong item).
  • We will respond within 1–2 business days with instructions. You will never be charged for return shipping on our errors.
  • We will offer either a full refund or an identical replacement (if still in stock). If the item is sold out, a refund will be issued.

We cannot process claims for damage or defects reported more than 7 days after delivery.


8. Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges on purebasics-us.com. This is because Pure Basics collections turn over quickly, and the size or color you want may sell out while your return is in transit.

To get a different size or color:

  1. Initiate a standard return for the original item (following Section 4 above).
  2. Once your return is accepted, you will receive a refund as described in Section 6.
  3. Place a new order on purebasics-us.com for the correct size or color.

This two-step process ensures you do not miss out on the replacement item while waiting for your return to arrive.


9. Return Window

The standard return window for Pure Basics products purchased on purebasics-us.com is 30 calendar days from the date your order is delivered. The delivery date is determined by the carrier’s “delivered” scan on the tracking history.

If the 30th day falls on a weekend or national holiday, you have until the next business day to initiate your return request.

Items returned after the 30-day window will not be accepted. They will be sent back to you at your expense, or discarded after 30 days of non-claim.


10. Final Sale Items

Some Pure Basics products are marked as “Final Sale.” These items cannot be returned or exchanged for any reason (except defective or incorrect items, which are covered under Section 7). Final sale items are clearly labeled on the product page and again at checkout. Please measure carefully before ordering final sale pieces.


11. International Returns (U.S. Territories Only)

We only ship to U.S. addresses (including territories). For customers in U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, USVI, etc.), the same return rules apply. However, return shipping times may be longer. You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error. We cannot refund any customs, duties, or territorial taxes paid at the time of original delivery.


12. Return Abuse

We reserve the right to refuse future orders from customers who repeatedly return heavily worn, stained, or damaged items under false claims of defects. purebasics-us.com is built on trust. Please be honest with your returns so we can keep our policies generous for everyone.


13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Return Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on purebasics-us.com with the “Last Updated” date below. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs that specific order.
